Helen Zerefos OAM
Soprano

Soprano Helen Zerefos was the SSSO's featured soloist on 12th September 2004 and on 8th September 2007

Born in Scone, NSW, Helen studied piano at an early age and her singing won her the prestigious Qantas, Miller's, BMC "Search for a Star" quest. Prizes included a trip around the world, singing engagements and a car.

As one of the select few who were resident stars of major television series such as Say it with Music and The Sound of Music, there are over 600 TV shows to her credit.
She also compered her own TV show called "Let's Go Greek Endaxi" on the Ten Network, has done thousands of stage shows and concerts, performed in theatre and recorded a number of CDs

One of the many highlights was a Royal Gala Concert for HM Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in 1986.

In 1996 Helen was awarded an OAM in recognition of her services to charitable organisations including the Ageing and Alzheimer Research Foundation.

In February 2000 Helen represented Australia in Shanghai, China, in a concert celebrating the opening of the Shanghai Grand Opera House. This was telecast to live two billion people.

In 2002 Helen performed for over 35 000 people at the Sydney Entertainment Centre at the Premier's Gala Concert for Seniors' Week.
