Mirabai Peart was the SSSO's featured soloist
at its concert on 18th December 2005Mirabai Peart got her first violin lessons at an early age and soon developed a passion for the instrument. She is currently in the third year of her Bachelor of Music (performance) studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she studies violin with Chris Kimber.
Mira has been performing on countless occasions since her early teens. She has been Accociate Concert Master of the Sydney Youth Orchestra and Concert Master of orchestra at a National Music Camp. She has toured NSW and New Caledonia with various ensembles including the Sydney Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra. She has been lead violin of the Sydney Conservatorium Modern Ensemble directed by Roland Peelman and Daryl Pratt. She is also a member of the group "String Diva" with which she has toured and performed interstate and in Malaysia.
Mira's love for music is not only confined to the classical genre. She has been a creative member of several original rock bands, with whom she has performed at The Basement, the Metro and at various youth festivals. She also studies improvisation with Judy Bailey.
